The dark depth and rich patina are such that results cannot be duplicated with a stain. Odie's Dark creates incredible contrast. Blacks pop! Use to not only darken any wood when applied, but to also naturally darken wood with age. Great for mahogany and ebony. Will actually get better with age, becoming more durable and beautiful.
Recommended for interior use. Doors, floors, fine furniture, bowls, toys, etc.
Great for all species of wood, exotic and domestic. Formulated to work on even the oiliest of woods.
Just like all the Odie's finish products, Odie's Dark is a food safe, non-toxic wood finish and stabilizer that is easy to use. Odie's Dark is solvent free.
Odie's Dark does not contain driers or toxic chemicals. Safe for everybody:families, kids, pets!
Odie's Dark contains natural UV inhibitors-sunscreen for your wood.
Just like all Odie's finish products, all of the Odie's Dark finishes are revolutionary products that out perform and out cover the competition.
Easy to use. A little goes a long way. Use sparingly! Truly economical, Odie's Dark averages 21 sq. ft./oz. on most domestic woods---a 9 oz jar of Odie's Dark will cover more square footage than 1 gallon of other leading brand finishes. Coverage will vary depending on wood density and porosity.
All Odie's Dark finishes are hand-made in small batches in the USA to insure quality.
Most surfaces can be used within 24 hours and can be exposed to liquids within 3-5 days.
I am used to spraying on water based polyurethane that gives a nice deep finish with a few layers. Odie's is quit different. Much easier to apply but leaves a much more matte appearance, at least when sanded to 220, and compared to poly at 220. A second coat was a must as just 1 coat was way to dull. I like the finish though and will continue to use and experiment with it, likely with a finer sanding finish next time.
I create charcuterie boards with electricity, Fractal art. Odies oil is by far the easiest finish I have used. One application, wait then buff off. Beautifies the wood by enhancing the color. Easy to use unlike Tung Oil which takes several applications. Odies oil and Odies Dark is my new best friend. Waterproof for spills, easy to clean.
I absolutely love how this product works right out of the jar and can’t wait to see how it darkens overtime!
Awesome! easy to apply and looks Great
My favorite finish ever...
Used this product on a vintage teak dining set. sanded and cleaned the teak, then rubbed odies dark and odies dark butter. the finish turned out incredible. love these products!~
This product lived up to the hype. I use it on many homemade items and the finish comes out beautifully. My customers love it and it goes a long way. I highly recommend.
This has proved to be a very easy finish to apply. It makes the grain of the wood come out as you apply it. I like the fact that it is safe to use so that no gloves are required. This lets you feel the grain as you work the oil into the surface. For the buff out always use a clean cloth, you will be able to tell when you are finished with buffing when the cloth stays clean. I really like the durability of the finish and the appearance just gets better with age. Great product!
Love this product! Smells great, no gloves required for application. A little goes a really long way. And when you buff, buff, buff, it's a great looking finish. It doesn't darken the wood quite as much as I expected but enough to do what I wanted which was to highlight the grain pattern. Odie's will be my new "go to" finish for many of my projects.
